Love Yourself

By: Santtana Looganaden

It takes the deepest strength to walk in front of the headlights of the world and say "I love myself." To forget all the different ways the media taught us we should hate our bodies.

To forget the 'whens' and the 'if onlys' and say "actually, I am masterpiece." To let ourselves be furiously happy as much as possible, and not be victims of our pasts, victims of the people who tried to drill into our heads we weren't worthy of being happy.

To open ourselves wide to love, both giving and receiving, rather than operate out of depravation mode and build walls of fear and doubt so high no human could ever possibly knock them down.

To say "No" and "I Disagree" and "Please don't interrupt me." And to stop saying "sorry" so liberally when we don't actually mean it.

It takes the deepest strength to walk in front of the world and say "I love myself." But it's time.

You get yours.

Distance

Distance makes the heart grow fonder

It’s no secret distance relationships come with a lot of challenges. You won’t see the person you’re dating as often as your friends see their significant other.

There are going to be things you go to alone. There’s going to be bad days where you don’t have arms to hold you when you fall apart but there will comfort in a simple phone call and their words.

More than that there’s something to always look forward to and the anticipation of seeing them, that makes it worth it.

Alone

ALONE

It’s okay to want to be on your own for a little while. It’s okay to want to spend your time selfishly by yourself, or to put your needs and wants before anyone else’s.

It’s okay to be lazy, to be active, to over-work, to veg out in bed all weekend, to hang with friends, or to spend your nights doing whatever the hell you want to do – this is your life, and no one can tell you how to live it. You don't live to satisfy others so why not.

We have such a negative perception of being alone, like ‘aloneness’ equates to loneliness. But it doesn’t have to. Being alone means being independent. It means knowing what you deserve and not settling. It means knowing what you want and not wasting time pursuing something that doesn’t grow you. It means finding your way in a world that’s chaotic and crazy and ever-changing.

There’s nothing wrong with being alone

Thaipusam2k17

Blessed Thaipusam

Thaipusam is about faith, endurance and penance where Hindu's all around the world gather to full fill their vows. Just like always, i personally did an offering of milk to Lord Muruga for all the guidance and blessings throughout.

It wasn't an easy task, walking bare footed under the burning sun while balancing the milk pot on top of the head. Nevertheless the satisfaction and fulfilment of the offering is attain at the end of the journey when your is done.
