"Critical Minds for Critical Times"- World press Freedom Day '17

SHAH ALAM - This year, May 3^rd, The World Press Freedom Day  is a day to celebrates the fundamental principles of press freedom, evaluates press freedom around the world, defends the media from attacks on their independence and pays tribute to journalists who have lost their lives in the exercise of their profession. Located at Auditorium Karangkraf , Shah Alam Selangor 

Asian Institute for Development Communication (Aidcom) , Faculty of Communication, Visual Arts, and Computing University of Selangor (UNISEL) in collaboration with Taylor’s University and Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM), is planning to commemorate a Forum to mark this yearly event. The theme is, “Critical Minds for Critical Times – Media’s Role in Advancing Peaceful Just and Inclusive Societies”.

YBhg Datuk A kadir Jasin , Chairman of Asian Institute for Development Communication (Aidcom), he said " Who had the power , the people who are in  authority to control the freedom of press is the Challenge for all of us to believe in freedom of press is the contentiousness process" . He also said that " the authority will continue to control but if we don not allowed them , i believe the media is strong enough to able to do that". He also mention that The Malaysiankini how they survive in order to delivery the news to people although they had so much obstacle in here Malaysia . 

The World Press Freedom Day 2017 conference focuses on the interrelationships between freedom expression, justice for all and the rule of law, peace, and inclusiveness .

World press freedom is a day to support for media which  are focusing on freedom of media it also a day to remember for those journalist who lost their life in pursuit of the story 

Moreover, World press freedom also conducted a forum to more discuss about theme with 4 panel judges with different topic but the main focus is freedom of media . Therefore , Student from Universiti Selangor (Unisel) and Universiti Teknologi Mara  (Uitm) they conduct a research on certain topic about freedom of media in term of reporting the news , Current issue .
